QA Specialist

YOUR ROLE
As a QA Specialist at PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions, you’ll be embedded within one of our core game teams, taking full ownership of quality assurance across the project. You’ll be responsible for driving test strategy, managing the defect lifecycle, and ensuring a consistent, structured approach to testing throughout development and release.
You’ll work closely with developers, producers, and external QA partners to maintain high quality standards and smooth delivery. This is a role for someone who strives for clarity, brings structure to complexity, and is confident representing QA in cross-disciplinary discussions from day-to-day development to major release milestones.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage QA efforts across game projects, ensuring quality is baked into every stage of development
- Represent QA in release planning and risk assessments, owning your role in the release management process
- Coordinate with external QA vendors, providing regular direction, feedback, and oversight
- Manage the full defect lifecycle: bug ingestion, triage, prioritisation, and resolution tracking
- Build and maintain test plans, cases, and regression suites with risk levels in mind.
- Monitor and report on test execution and release readiness through clear, data-driven updates
- Identify gaps and improve QA practices within your project and across the studio
- Document and advocate for quality processes, supporting developers in their implementation
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly
YOUR PROFILE
- 3+ years of embedded QA experience within game development teams
- Proven experience managing QA efforts across full game projects (not only tools or middleware)
- Strong understanding of test planning, execution, and reporting across the QA lifecycle
- Confident in coordinating with external QA partners and managing their output
- Comfortable representing QA in risk discussions, release planning, and triage meetings
- Familiar with tracking tools and workflows for games QA
- Excellent communicator with a structured, proactive mindset
- ISTQB Foundation certification (or equivalent) required; Advanced level is a plus
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Experience working with or responding to bug reports from player communities
- Exposure to compliance or localisation QA workflows
- Familiarity with UE5 or the ability to quickly pick up new engine pipelines
- Interest in survival games or related genres
LOCATION
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Hybrid) or fully remote (within Europe).
